And, yes, we're the guilty party -- items in storage units (note the plural)! Recently, I've started to purge. It's a good feeling, but a never-ending task. No sooner has something been thrown out, than three times that amount seems to find its way in...Trish Feehanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10617966589290792111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5373083364102062158.post-22769769984027925772013-03-22T15:25:19.264-04:002013-03-22T15:25:19.264-04:00As you know, I am about to be forced to get rid of...As you know, I am about to be forced to get rid of almost everything! It makes no sense to cart my things to the other side of the world. There will still be STUFF that I cannot sell or throw out like photo albums, personal papers etc, but for the most part it is all going. I am really struggling with this. I like a lot of my STUFF! So this morning I had an epiphany on how to view it. If I had (god forbid), a fire and everything was lost - I would have no option but to start fresh. So, that is how I plan to deal with it in my mind. Like I had a fire. That way, I can't pine over this or that down the road. It will feel more like a permanent inability to go back. No wishing I had kept this or kept that - it's simply gone. For me, it ...I totally relate to this post, Carla. For me, it isn't clothes or furniture, it's paper. The girls' old schoolwork, newspaper articles on raising teenagers, all my old drafts of stories - I find it so hard to get rid of any of it! Periodically I start new filing systems to store it more efficiently, and I did get rid of some a few months ago. But there's always more coming in!Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01681732058311386672noreply@blogger.com
